Threads, a short messaging app launched by Meta to compete with the current X, formerly Twitter, failed in Brazil and around the world. This is what a survey carried out by the Bites consultancy shows. Despite having reached 100 million users in the first five days after launch, July 5, Threads has 806 thousand active users per day in Brazil. On the other hand, billionaire Elon Musk’s X has 6 million. In the world, the interest of those who search for Threads information on Google is 21 times lower than X. In Brazil, this rate is 13 times pro-Twitter. Another interesting fact from the research is that, in Brazil, the cell phone penetration rate is 5% for Threads and 22% for Twitter. In addition, users of the Meta app log into the app twice a day in Brazil. In this, once again Twitter easily surpasses it, having 16 user sessions per day. The average time each person spends on Threads is 1 minute and 50 seconds versus 35 minutes on the old Twitter.
