Now, the USPS announces the winner of a competition to build replacements for its vans: it will be Oshkosh Defense, a company specializing in the construction of military vehicles, which won a US$482 million contract to produce 165,000 vans over ten years.

The appearance of the new vehicles resembles the current one, including the steering wheel on the right side, but they will incorporate a lot of technology, starting with their engines, which will be electric, complying with the Biden government’s guidelines. Strangely, the winner of the competition says that some of these vehicles may be equipped with conventional engines, which is not in line with what was announced by the American government, which says it intends to electrify its entire fleet.
